Meet the Photographer
Soren (Chuma) Hughes
Soren Hughes (b. 2003, Telluride, Colorado) is a lens-based artist utilising Videography and photography to experiment with new ideas within environmental, urban, and action sports. He was raised in a box canyon engulfed in the San Juan Mountains. From a young age, Soren explored high mountain snow and the low-range deserts of Canyonlands. His work is deeply informed by the environments he grew up in and the hidden texture found within these landscapes. He was also part of LBL Productions, filming and editing ski films. Currently, Soren is attending Montana State University, where he is pursuing a degree in Film and Photography (Integrated Lens-Based Media). Soren has exhibited his photographs in private collections in Telluride and the School of Film and Photography gallery.
I want to make your vision a reality
My photography is to create authentic, emotionally rich, and timeless pieces. Whether taking portraits or photographing landscapes, I approach each project with curiosity and patience, and try to develop a story with my subjects. I focus on natural light and composition to feel like you're reading a book. At the heart of my work is a commitment to making a finished product that I and my subject are proud of, in front of the camera or behind the scenes.
